Backstage, Performance Collide on Pine City Stage

Enjoy the behind-the-scenes actions of Noises Off, a comedy about the foils, fights, and follies of producing a play. Written by Michael Frayn, this play-within-a-play explores the concept that theater can be “funnier from behind” than what is seen by the audience.

The cast of 9 local actors will bring to life three different moments in the development of the fictional play “Nothing On” – the final dress rehearsal, one month into the run, and one of the final performances. The zany antics of “Nothing On” are no comparison for the actors’ backstage confusion, deteriorating relationships, and general incoherence. Led by the direction of Jay Schueller, Noises Off shows April 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th, and 9th at 7:00pm and April 3rd at 2:00pm. All performances will take place in Pine City High School’s Fine Arts Auditorium.

Advance ticket prices are $8 for adults, $6 for students and seniors. Advance tickets are available at Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce, Cabin Coffees, and online. Tickets at the door are two dollars more.

Noises Off is made possible by a grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council through an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the state’s General Fund. The Pine City Heritage Players’ mission is to enrich, educate, and entertain our community by providing a superior theater experience.
