It may be winter weather outside, but summer is on its way! This summer, we’re looking forward to the return of the 3rd annual Pine Theater Camp June 15-18 and 22-25.
Pine Theater Camp is the chance for our younger thespians to grow their skills and shine on stage. Youth currently in grades 5-8 are eligible to participate in this two-week, half-day camp where youth audition, rehearse, and perform a one-act play. In addition to rehearsals, campers have the chance to connect with friends and dive deeper into theater topics like marketing, set building, costuming, and theater technology.
All 5th-8th graders who are interested are encouraged to register! There is no experience necessary, no residency requirements, and we welcome youth of all abilities.
Save the date! This year’s important camp dates include:
- May 15 – registration opens
- June 11 – camper auditions & parent/guardian meeting
- June 15-18 and 22-25 – camp (required afternoon sessions each day)
- June 24 – public performance
This year, Pine Theater Camp is made possible in part by a grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council with funds appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature from its general fund. We are grateful to ECRAC, Minnesota legislators, and Minnesota residents for their support.
Pine Theater Camp is brought to you through the partnership of Pine City Heritage Players, Pine County 4-H, and Pine City Community Ed. For more information or questions about camp, please contact Sarah Odendahl, 4-H Extension Educator, at sodendah@umn.edu or 320-591-1654.
