Audition Information for Little Shop of Horrors

Something out of this world is making its way to Pine City this summer and the Heritage Players Community Theater has the inside scoop on all the details!  Little Shop of Horrors will be coming to the stage this summer for this local community theater.  The show will be directed by Emily Schueller in her first musical production as director with the Heritage Players.  She’ll be working with Jennifer Krinke as the music director for the show.

Schueller has been on stage as an actor for the Heritage Players for several years and took on directing the dinner theater production of Murder on the Menu back in the spring of 2024 as her first solo director show.  Last fall she directed the high school musical for Rush City Schools and was excited for the opportunity to apply to direct another show with Heritage Players.

Little Shop of Horrors has always had a special place in my heart,” shared Schueller, “It is one of the earliest shows I remember helping my dad bring to life, even in the small capacity that I could manage as a young kid. Ever since then, I’ve dreamt of recreating those memories and putting my own spin on it.”

The directing team has scheduled the auditions for this year’s show for Sunday, May 11th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Pine City High School.  “We will be doing one night of in-person auditions in hopes of getting all interested performers there on the same night so that the scene partnering can really be explored,” says Schueller.  A video audition option is also being made available for those that can’t make that night, but the directing team may require a call back audition for either May 12 or 13 to further explore scene partnerships.

This show will be open to students ages 16-18 or adults interested in auditioning for one of the roles.  A character description is available for review along with a draft copy of the rehearsal schedule.  Those interested in auditioning for the production are asked to complete this form as early as possible for planning.
