True love for the theater brings together a wild bunch of actors and actresses on this Valentine’s Day as they enjoy the Sunday rehearsals for the spring production of “Noises Off”. The spring production for the Heritage Players is being directed by Jay Schueller and he is thrilled with the casting of the production. “We have a wonderful group of actors and actresses for this production, many of which are making a debut performance on the Heritage Players stage,” says Schueller.
So… what is the show about… so glad you asked!
“Noises Off” is a play that highlights the development of the fictional production ‘Nothing On’ and the relationships of the cast both on and off stage. As the show begins we meet the production director and the cast and crew in their final dress rehearsal and quickly learn that they are nowhere near ready for opening night. Missed lines, missed cues, and missing actors make for a frazzled director.
In the second act of the show the audience will be given a different view of the production as we catch up with the cast one month into the run of the production. The view from backstage reveals deteriorating relationships, offstage shenanigans, and onstage bedlam. The chaotic action will cause nothing but laughs for the audience in attendance.
“Directing a play-within-a-play creates some wonderful challenges and this cast has embraced the show with enthusiasm,” says Schueller, “There is no shortage of laughs with this show and this cast.”
